Ring held in tweezers over the solder block, torch flame on, at the jeweler's bench
Every resize finished and polished at our Surprise benches.

Done in-house, done right

A resize done carelessly leaves a visible seam, a thin spot, or a stone knocked loose. Ours are done at our own benches by Ed and Eddie — cut, fitted, laser-soldered, refinished, and polished so the ring comes back looking like it was made in its new size. Every ring gets a free cleaning and inspection while it’s here.

Cutting, fitting, soldering, refinishing, and polishing a ring properly takes time — typical turnaround is 7–10 days. Need it before then? Tell us. For a small rush fee we’ll move your ring to the front of the benches and have it back next-day, sometimes same-day, done to the same standard.

  • Every metal: yellow, white, and rose gold, platinum, and sterling silver
  • Stones covered: checked and tightened, and backed by our stone warranty — ask what it covers on your ring
  • White gold re-plated: rhodium finish restored, so it comes back as bright as the day you bought it
  • Free cleaning and inspection: on every ring while it’s here
  • Rings from anywhere: you don’t need to have bought it from us

How much does ring resizing cost?

Most resizes run $50 to $150, and you’ll have the exact price before we start. Estimates are free, whether you bought the ring from us or anywhere else.

Free estimates

Bring the ring in and we’ll price it at the counter. No appointment, no obligation.

Stones covered

Every stone checked and tightened after sizing, backed by our stone warranty. Ask us what it covers on your ring.

Often same-day

Same-day and next-day rushes are usually possible for a small fee. Call ahead to check, or just bring it in.

What happens to your ring

Your ring never leaves the building. Ed and Eddie do the work at their own benches in Surprise, the same way they have for over twenty years.

Measured

Your finger sized properly at the counter, and the ring assessed — metal, stones, and how far it needs to go.

Resized

Cut and fitted at the bench, then laser-soldered — a joint you won’t find afterward. A ring set with diamonds is never stretched; stretching thins the metal and loosens stones.

Finished

Stones checked and tightened, then refinished, polished, cleaned, and inspected before it goes back on your finger.

Ring resizing FAQs, answered

What people ask at the counter before handing over a ring they love.

How much does ring resizing cost?

Most resizes run $50 to $150, depending on the ring: how far it’s going, what it’s made of, and how many stones need checking and tightening afterward. You’ll have the exact price before we start — estimates are free, always.

How long does ring resizing take?

Most resizes take 7–10 days — cut, fitted, laser-soldered, refinished, and polished properly. Need it sooner? Tell us — for a small rush fee we’ll move your ring to the front of the benches and have it back next-day, sometimes same-day.

Can rings with stones all the way around be resized?

Often, yes — it’s harder, but our jewelers keep surprising people with what’s possible. Bring it in and we’ll tell you honestly what your ring allows.

How many sizes up or down can you go?

It depends on the ring — the metal, the design, and the stones. Our jewelers will tell you what your ring safely allows before any work begins.

Does my ring get thinner when it’s sized larger?

Not when it’s done properly. Stretching a band thins the metal, which is why we don’t stretch any ring set with diamonds — it loosens stones. Instead we cut the band and add a piece of matching metal, so your ring keeps its thickness and its strength.

Will I be able to see where it was sized?

No. The seam is soldered, filed, and polished back to the original finish. On a properly done resize you won’t find it by eye or by feel.

Does white gold need to be re-plated after resizing?

White gold is plated with rhodium for its bright white color, and sizing disturbs that plating — so we re-plate it as part of the job and your ring comes back looking new. Prefer to skip it and let the metal show its own warmer tone? Tell us and we’ll take it off the price.

What happens to the stones when you resize?

Sizing changes the shape of the band, so we check and tighten every stone as part of the job — and we back the work with a stone warranty covering smaller stones against loss. Ask at the counter for the details of your ring’s coverage.

Do I need to have bought the ring from you?

No — we resize rings from anywhere. No appointment needed: walk in any time during business hours at our Surprise location in the West Point Town Center.

“Ed at jewelers was amazing! Not only did you assist with choosing a setting for my stone, but was willing to take the time and effort to educate on the differences between each item we are looking at ensuring we were making an informed decision. I would highly suggest anyone go to V jewelers as they will be treated well and receive a fair price for custom work!”
